Access to Health Care

GV expanded its vision by implementing health awareness programs in various panchayats in collaboration with reputed district hospitals. Along with technical support, GV conducted community awareness sessions to educate people on preventive healthcare, hygiene, and nutrition. Every Thursday, Sarada Krishna Homoeopathic Medical College conducts outreach medical camps at the GV campus, offering affordable healthcare with a minimal registration fee. This initiative benefits nearly 1,700 outpatients annually, providing essential medical services to underserved communities. To further strengthen primary healthcare infrastructure, GV established health sub-centers, making medical assistance more accessible. Additionally, supplementary drugs like vitamins are provided to children and women to combat malnutrition and improve overall well-being. Through GV animators, we assist health nurses in school-level deworming programs, ensuring better health for young students. GV also offers patient counseling services, providing emotional and psychological support to help individuals cope with health challenges. Furthermore, palliative care services ensure comfort and dignity for patients with chronic or terminal illnesses, significantly enhancing their quality of life.

What we do

Health and Nutrition: While maternal healthcare has improved, women in rural and marginalized communities still face issues of malnutrition, anemia, and lack of access to quality healthcare. The imbalance in decision-making power often results in inadequate attention to women’s health.

Health Awareness programs: AIDS awareness Day, Cancer awareness Day, Health and Hygiene awareness programs, etc.

Organizing Health Camps: Since the year 2000, GV Has been organising health camps at 2 health care sub-centers.

Health Sub-Centres: one in Paloor and another in Amsi (Thengappattinam) on every week.

Preservation and Promotion of Indigenous medical practices and alternate Medicines.

Supply of Vitamins to Children and Women to deal mal nourishment.

Patient Counselling: Good Vision has been actively addressing issues of domestic violence, sexual harassment, and dowry-related crimes, which continue to affect women in the district. Despite existing legal protections, many cases go unreported due to fear, stigma, and social pressure. To support these women, Good Vision encourages them to reach out to our trained field workers for emotional support, guidance, and patient counselling in a safe and confidential environment.

Palliative Care: Good Vision provided training for 45 volunteers to provide palliative care services to support individuals suffering from chronic or life-limiting illnesses. Our approach focuses on improving the quality of life through pain management, emotional support, and compassionate care. We work closely with families to ensure dignity, comfort, and holistic support during difficult times. Through our palliative care services and patient Counselling centers, we offer comfort and support to those in critical need.
